Painted and drawn en plein air on a warm sultry evening this July. Barely any breeze but enough to cool down and sketch in the glowing evening sun. I stood on the South West Coast footpath by the Appledore RNLI, the walkway is slightly elevated so one can see over the expanse of water. The path eventually leads you round The Skern and onwards to Northam Burrows Nature Reserve and beyond, to the south.
The cheeping calls of the Oystercatchers is such lovely company.
Channels of tide come in to gently the greet the boats. Such a dreamy atmosphere.
