I studied Printed Textile Design and Fine Art, graduating with distinction, and since creating my striking collection of sumptuously patterned fine silks and art, it has always been a reflection of my in-depth research into the sea and oceans. This passion has been a constant throughout my career, and it is something I have carried with me for over 30 years. My rich love for the coastal environment, especially in North Devon where I live and work, a special place that I have a deep personal connection, to the rolling landscape, rivers, coast and sea.

After graduating, I worked as a textile design colourist for an interior textiles company, which eventually led me to a role as an Interior Designer and Decorator. I had the opportunity to furnish luxury apartments in some of London’s newest central and riverside developments, including private residential properties, working with clients to create beautiful, bespoke interiors.

Alongside my design work, I have always been prolific in creating my own art, experimenting with a wide variety of materials and techniques, including painting (with a particular obsession for ink), drawing, printing, collage, silk painting, fabric dyeing, wall murals, and specialist paint effects for walls. I have also worked on more unusual surfaces such as glass, carved plaster, and decorative mosaics. Many of my private commissions have been for architectural interior projects, including exterior decorative art panels for eye-catching, garden design installations.

A particular form of proficiency, is I specialise in designing exquisite bespoke, hand-painted glass panels for a range of interior projects, such as kitchen and bathroom splashbacks, glass room dividers, and statement decorative wall art. My work reflects a diverse expertise as a professional designer, combining high-quality materials with over 30 years of pure craftsmanship and design experience. I manage each project from the very first spark of an idea and concept, through the entire making process, and right through to the final design installation.

For many years, I have been fortunate to take part in major exhibitions and art fairs in and around London and the home counties. Looking ahead to 2025, I have some exciting new projects in the works, and I’ll be sharing all the details here on my website in the ‘news’ section. If you would like to stay updated on my progress, you can also ‘subscribe’ to receive regular updates directly from me, straight to your email inbox.

Much of my personal work is inspired by the time I spend in North Devon. I love exploring and recording the ever-changing beach and sea life, watching the ocean waves, tides, vast skies, and often dramatic weather over the Celtic and Atlantic seas. The sea is an unpredictable, powerful and overpowering force, we all have a responsibility towards looking after it, from city to sea. It is this connection to nature that continually fuels my creativity.

I design with all the senses in mind.

Growing up surrounded by the natural world has deeply influenced my approach to art, and I now consider myself a Biophilic Artist and designer. Biophilia is the idea that humans have an innate connection to nature, and I truly believe that the natural world holds the key to our intellect, well-being, and overall health. Through my art, I aim to translate and manifest this connection into my design work, whether for residential, leisure, hospitality, or working environments. My goal is to create spaces that foster this relationship with nature, enhancing both the physical space and our emotional well-being.
